Hi Neighbour!

Spring has finally - gloriously - sprung! We are so grateful for sun and some rain relief. We see lots of neighbours working in gardens, out on the trails and enjoying Lynn Valley in its prime. This warm weather also has us thinking a bit about the future.

We have some summer camp ideas for you, some urban planning dilemmas to think about, and a story about how one local is helping deal with what is left behind after so many outdoor ‘adventures.’ You also just might find the perfect home to settle into this summer.

We also have a new Facebook contest starting soon - all we’ll say for now is keep your eyes peeled when you are out and about enjoying our great neighbourhood.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Local Real Estate Update
The Metro Vancouver housing market saw fewer home buyers and more home sellers in April. Last month’s sales were 22.5 per cent below the 10-year April sales average.

“Market conditions are changing. Home sales declined in our region last month to a 17-year April low and home sellers have become more active than we’ve seen in the past three years,” Phil Moore, REBGV president said. “The mortgage requirements that the federal government implemented this year have, among other factors, diminished home buyers’ purchasing power and they’re being felt on the buyer side today. Home buyers have more breathing room this spring. They have more selection to choose from and less demand to compete against."
