This should be a beauty of a weekend to reflect and pay our Remembrance Day respects. Take a moment of silence and visit the Veterans Plaza Service that will be taking place at 3205 Institute Rd. at 10:30am on Nov.11th. With sunny weather predicted, it's also looking like a good weekend to tackle fall projects like raking leaves, clearing gutters or getting organized before the Christmas rush. After Monday we will likely start to see a transition to festive decorations and lights around the neighbourhood. Find out about upcoming local Christmas Markets below. And make a note in your calendar for the Parade of Trees lighting ceremony in Lynn Valley Village on Dec.2nd.

LynnValleyLife is honored to be participating in the Realtors Care Blanket Drive. Between Nov. 13-20, we will be collecting warm clothing such as socks, gloves, hats, coats, and blankets which will then be distributed to partner charities in our community. We welcome donations at our office at 3171 Mountain Hwy from 9am-5pm M-F.

Lynn Valley’s November 11th will have a full ceremony with a choir, colour party, bugler and speeches. It will take place at Veterans’ Plaza – behind the Archives building between Lynn Valley Elementary and Parent Participation Preschool, 3205 Institute Road at 10:30 am. Arrive early as the space usually fills quickly.

Four years after a rock slide dramatically changed the Seymour River, the replacement pedestrian bridge at Twin Bridges will soon be re-opening. At this point the bridge is almost complete. Once the temporary bridge is removed and the site cleaned-up, the new bridge is anticipated to be ready for foot, bike and horse traffic between late November and mid-December.

Home sale activity across Metro Vancouver remained below long-term historical averages in October.
The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) reports that residential home sales in the region totalled 1,966 in October 2018, a 34.9% decrease from the 3,022 sales recorded in October 2017. Last month’s sales were 26.8% below the 10-year October sales average.
“The supply of homes for sale today is beginning to return to levels that we haven’t seen in our market in about four years,” Phil Moore, REBGV president said. “For home buyers, this means you have more selection to choose from. For sellers, it means your home may face more competition, from other listings in the marketplace.”
“Home prices have edged down between three to five percent, depending on housing type, in our region since June,” said Moore. “This is providing a little relief for those looking to buy compared to the all-time highs we’ve experienced over the last year.”
