Lynn Valley teen joins Disney’s Camp Rock 3

January 6, 2026

A Lynn Valley teen is heading to Camp Rock. Fourteen-year-old Casey Trotter has been cast in Disney’s Camp Rock 3, now in production in Vancouver. The film is set to premiere on Disney+ and Disney Channel in summer 2026. Trotter plays Cliff, a drummer with his own beat. It’s his biggest role yet.

The new movie brings back the Jonas Brothers as Connect 3, the fictional band that anchored the original films. This time, the brothers return to Camp Rock after losing the opening act for a major reunion tour. They’re looking for new talent. A new generation steps forward. Disney describes the film as a high-energy mix of rivalry, music, and shifting friendships.
Tensions rise. Romances spark. Campers compete for a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

The Camp Rock franchise first launched in 2008 and quickly became one of Disney Channel’s most successful original movie series. Alongside High School Musical, the films helped define an era of Disney Channel original movies and introduced a generation of young viewers to musical storytelling. More than a decade later, the third installment blends nostalgia with a new cast, introducing younger performers to a global audience.

For Trotter, the role feels like a natural next step. Based in Vancouver, he’s already made a name for himself as a musician and performer. In 2024, he starred as Freddie the drummer in School of Rock: The Musical with Theatre Under the Stars. The show ran for 26 sold-out performances at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. The extended run demanded consistency, stamina, and focus.

Night after night, Trotter took the stage as part of a professional outdoor theatre production. Audiences noticed. That performance earned him the Aida Broadbent Award for Outstanding Performance and Professionalism, an Ovation Awards nomination, and the District of North Vancouver Youth Recognition Award. He’s also appeared on screen in The Thundermans and Sugarplummed. More projects are on the way.

He has also been selected to perform as a drummer with the Vancouver Show of Rock Senior House Band, which performs across the Lower Mainland. The experience has given him opportunities to play in different venues and collaborate with other young musicians at an advanced level. It reflects years of steady work, rehearsal, and performance while building confidence within a close-knit community that supports youth arts.

Now, he’s joining one of Disney Channel’s most iconic franchises. For a performer who started on local stages, the move marks a significant milestone. Fifteen years after the original Camp Rock, the campfire is lit again. And this time, a Lynn Valley drummer is in the spotlight.
