“While out at Delany’s earlier today, I was reminded of the time I spent working with the Darwin team on the construction of the Village Square and the Library. In many ways, the atmosphere of the community and the spirit of what we were building was something that helped encourage my family to move from West Van to Lynn Valley.”

What do your customers like about you?
Our clients always appreciate the value in our service. It starts with a devotion to quality craftsmanship while trying to maintain a reasonable schedule on a comfortable budget.

Tell us about your clients.
Our customers are people who have embarked on a new path in life whether it is simply updating a room or two in the house, or creating a new home from the ground up. It is an exciting process to have ideas transform into a tangible part of your living environment. We love that our clients invite us to be a part of such an intimate experience.

Do you have any hobbies?
Enjoying a coffee in the Village while my son rides his bike and chases birds in the square…
Taking a stroll with the family in the canyon, even on a rainy day…
Playing a little guitar, either with a few friends, or just to relax at the end of a long day.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I got my Private Pilot License in 1995 and continued with flight training after moving to BC in 1996. Although flying is something I love, it made more sense for me to pursue a career doing work that meant that at the end of the day, I could stand back and be proud of what had been created.

What’s the construction business taught you?
Patience. People are passionate about their homes. When it comes to inviting someone in, to trust them to take their concepts and ideas and then turn them into the fresh, new space that is so dear to them, it is a big step. Communication and understanding are key elements. We deal with technical professionals as well as people with a very rudimentary understanding of construction. It can be difficult to bridge the expanse so everyone comes to a common understanding. Patience helps to get everyone on the same level with minimal frustration.

What about future plans?

Five years in Lynn Valley have made an impact on myself and family. The community events, the residents and the environment make Lynn Valley the most welcoming community we have been a part of, and we look forward to a long and prosperous future here.
