Lantern Making at Karen Magnussen Community Centre (Free)

Nov. 26 – 1 to 3 pm

Kick off the Holiday Season by making lanterns to bring to the December 3rd lighting of the Christmas Tree Parade at Lynn Valley Village. A local tradition of enjoying the trees by lantern light emerged a number of years ago. Join in the fun with this free workshop to prepare. Lanterns take approximately 20 minutes to make. Bright Christmas at Mollie Nye House (Free)

Dec. 1 – 7 to 8:30 pm

Lynn Valley Services Society (LVSS) presents its 14th annual Bright Christmas Event. Gather out front Mollie Nye House at 7 p.m.sharp to join Mayor Richard Walton as he leads the “Light Up The House” ceremony. Enjoy a traditional carol sing-a-long lead by Susan Lepin, decorate gingerbread to take home, make an old fashioned ornament, capture your own Bright Christmas moment photo booth all while sipping on a nice cup of hot chocolate. 7th Annual Lynn Valley Parade of Trees at Lynn Valley Village (Free)

Dec. 20 – 3 to 4:30 pm

Join your neighbours at this annual family event. Enjoy carols and check out all the trees decorated by local groups and businesses. Proceeds from the event support the Harvest Project.


Traditional Christmas Tea at Mollie Nye House ($5)

Dec. 16 – 12:30 to 1:30 pm or 2 to 3 pm

Everyone is welcome to enjoy some festive treats while sipping on a nice hot cup of tea. There will also be door prizes and entertainment. Tickets must be purchased at Mollie Nye House before December 12 at 4 p.m. There are two sittings to choose from: 12:30 to 1:30pm OR 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Cost is $5 per ticket. Holiday Concerts at Local Schools

Watch our local kids as they perform their holiday concerts. Many schools open their doors to afternoon rehearsals – cheer on our local kids. Check your local school’s website.
